Nov. 6th, 2010 03:01 pmI love the fact it's easier to find support for lyme online than it is to get diagnosed. I'm glad it's there and try my best to support it. I think it's a really good thing. But I have a lot of problems with it, too.
Here's my problem today: a woman emailed the mailing list saying she feels weak from heat and has flushing starting at 6pm every day. This could be so many things. OTCs, anxiety (of which hers is very high), chemicals, soap, whatnot. Anything. But here's what happens: she gets told that she should start to worry about babesia.
okay.
stop the press.
babesia is a serioius illness, hard to kick and acts like malaria. it's very dangerous and the treatments are even more so.
i'm not saying it's not possible, but i think it's completely out of line to just casually suggest that they should worry about a life threatening illness because she flushes and feels hot.

jbbs . A small image that someone feels comfortable putting on the end of an LJ post or on their website. Except my Photoshop doesn't work.
Would anyone possibly be able to do me a favour and make one for me? I would love you so much and be ever so grateful. I needed to get these out tonight but now I can't, but I absolutely can't push it past tomorrow night.
