What?
Also, I thought my bladder surgery was on the 23. Turns out it's on the 19th. It also turns out that the operating theatre they're using will be using latex because apparently they have to specially prepare the entire facility if you're allergic to latex. What the hell?
It's deemed 'okay' because I'm moderately allergic to latex, while if it was severe it would have been pushed back a looong time.
I will then either go home or spend 1-3 days in the hospital. Supposedly I'll also get pain meds. All I have to say is they better do more than say 'motrin' when they're going on my bladder, cauterizing ulcers and taking out a piece of it. I better get Dilaudid or codeine or some shit. I'm not sure how to make sure of this - any advice?
They've been considering a new treatment for my migraines/chronic pain that I'll either find out on the 26 or in August whether or not they're going to do it. There's two up at hand. One is where they put a port in at the base of your spine and basically you give yourself an epidural when you get fucked over by pain. The other is putting this slow release disc in the shoulder (I don't know the name of what it is, but they usually use it for severe diabetics) where they inject Dilaudid in the clinic and it slowly releases it over a set period of time at which they then inject again. A week or a month. It's one of those.
I'd love the latter one. I'm really routing for it. I think it's a good short term measure while they try to solve things for a long term measure. I'm at the point where it's either that or cryofreeze. Cryofreeze is where they put a needle by the nerves that send pain impulses into the brain and freeze them to kill them. No more headache nerves. Possible permanent damage to the entire area and possible ice burn. :|
I've been sick lately in a way they have no idea whether it's my stomach, my cluster headaches, my ovaries or something else. Or all of the above. All we know is that at 10pm every night (by the dot) I suddenly become too ill to function and tend to throw up everything I've eaten that day too. Since it actually happens at a certain time I'm seriously suspecting a medication at fault....
