So I've been setting up that London Calling style X-men First Class game! It's not finished setting up (I have everything planned that I need to plan, I just need to finish some of the info pages and designing ) but here's some info
*The game starts in September of 1969, between the two nuclear crisis of that year ( Lucens Reactor on January 21 and the Saint-Laurent Power Station on October 17. )
*You don't have to play a mutant to be involved.
*You can app canon characters or original characters. You can also app characters from other canons if you change their history and details to fit the X-men movie universe.
*Canon characters can be pretty much anyone in the X-men universe as long as you can make them fit into the time period with understandable origins. (Someone is transplanting Rogue, for example, as having been born in 1954.)
*You can use any RP option you like as long as it's either a log or on the main community. RP can be done on the private journals but those fit under 'logs' and will need to be linked on the main comm as well.
*There will be events scheduled to fit player schedules. For those who didn't play London Calling, they're RP in messenger chat with a structure between campaign nights and regular RP. This is where adding major developments to your characters' powers or what they're involved in comes in.
*The game is more interactive on the plot level than most. The rules are mainly rules of conduct. There will always be room for a player to come up with major plot details on their own (someone actually already has.) You just gotta talk to me first. :)
*You don't have to know X-men canon. There will be a primer to explain what you need to know to participate with this particular canon point and about how the world works. I don't like making games restrictive when they don't have to be.
*Apps will be pretty easy to write and far shorter than the usual these days.
Multiple people expressed interest in this when I was first pondering it so I'm posting about it here first. You guys get first pick before I advertise it publicly since I wouldn't have actually started this without the encouragement. :D
Here's the canonical characters taken so far:
Xavier
Magneto
Emma Frost
Wolverine
Azrael
Mystique
Rogue
Cyclops
+3 OCs
So if you think you might want to be involved or have any questions, please comment here. I would love to have you!

Date: 2011-07-13 07:32 pm (UTC)I'm writing up the info I need people to give. I'm sort of copying Ansible with the length requirements (3+ for background, 1+ for personality). I could link you it when I'm done in a few minutes or I could link once I've written Xavier's info? Sample app and all.

Date: 2011-07-13 08:26 pm (UTC)Maybe. I don't know who in X-Men that I would be able to write. Lemme think on it and I'll see if I can come up with something. It would be good to write again.
*hugs*

Date: 2011-07-13 08:28 pm (UTC)I want as many OCs as possible, if that helps any. Then you wouldn't have to worry about canon interpretations?

Date: 2011-07-14 03:45 am (UTC)Aside from that, if a person does an open-tag post, it is RPed on the comm. Private scenes can just be done in whatever medium, as long as when they're over, they get posted to the comm as a log and formatted correctly.

Date: 2011-07-14 04:49 pm (UTC)(I always want to suggest a MUSH/MOO, but that takes work and server space!

Date: 2011-07-14 05:23 pm (UTC)...you know, I was wondering if MOO might be a viable option. Most people that signed up prefer journals but it would probably work a whole lot better for the live events in particular. (also somehow it feel less confrontational than AIM, at least for me.)
