Sometimes I forget my brother is a genius. I also forget my sister is a genius. When I do, usually it comes back and smacks me with an open palm. Such as now, watching Doctor Who:

Sister: How would the rift in space move with the planet?
Patrick: Perhaps it was caught upon the electromagnetic field around the planet.
Sister: Maybe, but I don't think that's possible. The magnetic field isn't going to drag along anything it's not attached to.
Patrick: Eh, [some believe] the Earth's magnetic field goes out a mile around us, therefore it is quite possible that it would be similar on other planets and thus have a field that contracts the field, as such a sticker on an envelope or two atoms together.
Sister: Not if they have different types of space field.
